CFCF’s Latest Album ‘On Vacation’ Now Streaming

Familiar for his own productions as well as collaborations with the likes of How To Dress Well, Holy Ghost!, Azari & III and Crystal Castles, Michael Silver aka CFCF, spent the first part of 2015 scoring an art film by Andrew Thomas Huang, who worked on Bjork’s latest album. He is currently scoring a crime movie set in Montreal and a meditative feature film by David Lynch’s son Austin Lynch, in collaboration with Cameron Reed aka Babe Rainbow. He was also recently recognized with a Grammy nod as well under the “Best Remixed Recording”: Non-Classical. Now, theres a big push behind his latest offering ‘On Vacation’ out now on International Feel. Available for stream, listeners will be treated to hear 8 tracks gracefully switching back and forth between the genres.

Described highlights of the mini-album include the opener, ‘Sate Padang’ which is tight with melody and lush sounds creating mysticism with the use of some traditional instrumentation such as Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Accordian and Congas. ‘Pleasure Centre’ — a tribute to the synth pop makers of the 80s, ‘Dans Un Taxi’ reflects Paris In Springtime, ‘Lighthouse On Chatham Sound’—imagine a late afternoon seaside setting, and the closer ‘Vermont’ a contemplation piece on the future.

The label describes this album as showing Silver in full stride and hitting somewhere pretty special. An artist open to music and melody and not hindered by genre or time and space. A cliche? Yes maybe… But listen and you’ll see exactly what they…and we mean. You wont’t be disappointed.
