Joey Negro: 21st Century King of Disco!

On July 12, 1979 at Comiskey Park in Chicago, Illinois, crates of disco records were blown-up and set a blaze to the delight of many rock fans in attendance, as well as to the city’s shock-jock DJ Steve Dahl, who incidentally spearheaded the historic event. At that moment in time, Dave Lee, aka Joey Negro, had just turned 15 years old and was two years in with his love affair of the genre. During the next 38 years, his love for disco did not waiver. On June 30, 2017, Negro’s label Z Records will release a collection of 11 tracks showcasing new and original music packaged in a triple vinyl set, double CD and as a digital download. Hyped, and rightfully so, as a buoyant, life-affirming, disco inspired album that offers welcome relief from the grey-faced march of modern club music, Joey Negro’s “Produced With Love” keeps the disco fire burning.
