Keeno: The Futurist With A Flair For The Cinematic

Over the last three years, Keeno, a U.K. based DnB producer, has risen through the ranks with award nominations, No.1 hits in various European markets, and selected as one of  2013’s Top 20 Producers by Knowledge Magazine. On February 26, which also happens to be his birthday, Med School Music will release his brand new album, ‘Futurist’. We’ll get to the details a little later. In the meantime, here is a little back history leading up to the new release.

Keeno is known for his sense of grandiose cinematic and orchestral drum and bass music. He’s famous for his remix of Casey Abrams ‘Get Out’, that indecently topped charts in Lithuania and Estonia. He’s an often collaborator with fellow Med School artist Whiny and their most recent remix of S.P.Y’s ‘By Your Side’ has garnered some attention. Preceding ‘Futurist’, are ‘Nocturne’—a 6 track EP released in 2013 and  2014’s ‘Life Cycle’—a full length album that presented him with Drum and Bass Arena Awards nominations as “Best Newcomer DJ”, Best Album, and Best Newcomer Producer. Following the momentum, last year Keeno released ‘Preludes’, a four track EP. Additionally, he launched “60 minutes of Med School”, a series on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Also, in 2015, Keeno took the proverbial “leap of faith” with the decision to pursue a career in music versus higher education.

Now, to get back the upcoming new release, Futurist features 16 tracks emblematic of the sound that Keeno’s fans are familiar with, big sweeping silky smooth soundscapes with deep bass. Highlights of the release is the opener, ‘Faithless’ with it’s elegant and epic string work that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Tracks ‘Lifeline’, Perspective’, and ‘A Breath’ represent fine drum work and the vocal talents of Oscar Corney, MC Fava, and Alice Gasson. Other tracks that will attract attention are ‘Dream Sequence’, ‘At Twilight’, and ‘Futurism’.

Pre-Orders are being taken for Futurist at Med School Music, out everywhere February 26.
