Soul Clap Drops 2nd Single Ahead of Release and Tour

Numb is the second sneak peak into Soul Clap’s self-titled sophomore LP. Originally written at George Clinton’s What? Studios in Tallahassee, Florida, ‘Numb’ rides the line between underground pop and modern R&B.

Young vocalist and Tallahassee native Ebony Houston shines her light on this song with a sound that is as powerful and knowledgeable as it is pure and innocent. Synthesizers rip and tear as electric pianos smooth and strings get the mood soaring. The lyrics tell a love story, filled with the intensity of wide eyed youth, only our protagonist packs an all knowing and seemingly cosmic vision which results in her telling it like it is. This piece of music is a jump forward for Soul Clap into the genre bending unknown, but remains authentic and true to their eclectic hearts.

Soul Clap mark the album with a global tour starting on Sept 30th in the UK, with new London date added at Village Underground on Oct 9th, taking them to in Norway, Copenhagen, Italy and Amsterdam’s ADE before another five weeks in the United States and ending in Asia with Tokyo and Bangkok.

In their second album, ‘Soul Clap’, we can hear four years of maturing technique since their first album, carefully crafted and supported by a whole community of musical talent. In the words of Charles Levine, one half of the duo, “it digs deep into our funky souls and turns our wildest dreams into sound. If ‘EFUNK’ [their first album] was an attempt to create a blueprint using our past inspirations, then “Soul Clap” is the beautiful skyscraper, standing tall as it looks to the future.”
