Melé Vanelé— MIXTAPE Vol.3 Album Review

Melé Vanelé 3 Mixtape (Quadrants) is a trippy journey through some of the 80’s and 90’s most famous breakbeats and samples. A driving, dribble of vocal samples and pulsating choppy loops. Melé Vanelé 3 Mixtape, is definitely an extension of his previous offerings. The production stands out due to the combined powers of the depth and the usage of classic material as the basis for the entire makeup. The album is made up in pieces and is best described as taking the building blocks of Techno and creating something on the whole greater. Not just building the image on the box. Melé builds his own sound with a catalogue of drum traps, Hi-hats, and snare samples and really pushing the boundary of listenability to new levels. The smorgasbord of sounds is blended well with a good amount of synthesized clips and drum patterns. Tracks like “Jam“, “Good Life” (Melé’s rework of the classic House staple by Inner City featuring Paris Grey), and his edit of MJ’s stellar “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” (from the untouchable Thriller) sound the alarm for the albums House/Techno authenticity. The Melé Vanelé 3 Mixtape continues the artists progression as he rides the wave of burgeoning fame and production technicality. Proving that he knows what he is doing— moving onward and upward.
