Needs x UN Women HeForShe Announce Final Program Ahead of Sunday 11th March

The final program has been announced for the illustrious Needs x UN Women all day event as part of HeForShe London Arts Week. Addressing the challenging topic of gender equality in the music world, all funds raised will be donated to UN Women NC UK.

Engaging panel discussions will cover topics such as parenthood in music, the future of women on the stage including the role of activism, effecting positive change bringing to light positive initiatives within the industry and “She Changed Me,”‘ looking at influential females in the public eye and how they’ve changed the world for the better.

This will be followed by networking drinks and an evening musical showcase with Peggy Gou, Jackmaster, Bobby Pleasure and a very special guest performing. Other star talents involved in the event are BRITs Critics Choice nominee Chloe Howl, writer, producer and artist Carla Marie (infamous for her Grammy nominated work on Beyonce’s Lemonade), industry veteran and Stevie Wonder’s manager Keith Harris of UK Music and model and activist Munroe Bergdorf who said of her involvement in the event to i-D magazine, “If you put your money behind people who are really gritty and groundbreaking, then the outcome will actually be something that changes lives [and] changes minds.”

Needs x HeForShe has been curated in association with music industry heavyweights shesaidso, AIM, Mixcloud (our official streaming partner for the day) and Resident Advisor, who will record a live RA Exchange podcast at the event. It aims to inspire a social movement and encourage a dynamic network of people to become active in the wider creative worlds with the hope of creating real change for both genders across the industry.

A vinyl and digital EP will be released by Needs to coincide with the event featuring artists Peggy Gou and Juju & Jordash with bespoke cover artwork courtesy of The Line Girl.

All funds raised from the event and release are to be donated to UN Women NC UK to support their work to achieve gender equality. Food available to purchase for those attending both day and night events.
